As of April 8th 2014 Microsoft will no longer issue security updates or non-security hotfixes for Windows XP

As part of a an ongoing lifecycle policy, Microsoft have committed to communicate key dates in a products life to its users to allow informed decisions as to when would be the most suitable time to upgrade their Operating System.

Windows XP, which has been on general availability since 2001, is now coming to the end of its lifecycle. With sales of the software platform having ceased in 2010 Microsoft have committed to ending.

How does this affect you?

You need to contact your software supplies to ensure that your software will run on windows 7 or windows 8. You may need to replace your hardware if the PC you have will not use windows 7 or 8 drivers

Continuing to use Windows XP after the above date can have several implications.These include: security & compliance risks; Increased exposure to viruses, hacking and malware;
